Carrollton City Schools
Carrollton Middle School Addition
The project expanded and renovated Carrollton Middle School to support increasing enrollment and modern learning needs. Southern A&E provided full architectural and engineering design services for the improvements, which delivered new academic, athletic, and dining spaces across the campus.
The design included a two-story classroom addition totaling 49,237 square feet, featuring science labs, standard classrooms, art and family and consumer science spaces, a computer lab, a music room, a band room, and a fully equipped video broadcast studio with control room. The expanded academic wing strengthened the school’s capacity to deliver a diverse and comprehensive curriculum.
Renovations to the 9,200-square-foot gymnasium created updated athletic and physical education spaces, supported by a new 4,200-square foot locker room that also functions as a FEMA-rated storm shelter. In addition, a cafeteria expansion and renovation totaling more than 10,000 square feet improved dining flow and student comfort.
Collectively, the 53,484 square feet of new construction and 15,909 square feet of renovated space modernized the campus while maintaining operational continuity throughout construction.
